Artificial intelligence (AI) is evolving fast and is becoming more integrated and influential in our lives in a range of different ways.
As it reshapes industry and redefines the future of technology, responsible development and ethical use of AI in Australia is increasingly urgent and critical.
Emerging technologies such as AI also pose new challenges for the work of regulators. Effective regulation requires the right legal frameworks and the right tools to be in place.
As the corporate, markets and financial services regulator, ASIC is bringing together experts from academia, business, industry, and government for a critical conversation about how AI is changing regulation and the way regulators go about their work, drawing on lessons from leading international approaches. Our focus will be on identifying the conditions necessary for effective regulation of AI.
Join us as we discuss some of the most pressing questions AI poses for regulation in Australia.
