Records and Information Management
Digital transition and enterprise content management policy
This document describes ASIC’s digital transition and enterprise content management (ECM) policy for the management of information and records in ASIC.
It establishes a framework for the transition and adoption of digital strategies, methods and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to organisational processes. ECM tools and strategies allow the management of an organisation's unstructured information, wherever that information exists.
Destruction of records
ASIC uses the following tools to dispose of records:
-
the Records Authority covering its agency specific records;
-
general disposal authorities, such as the Administrative Functions Disposal Authority (AFDA), that covers functions and records common to every Commonwealth agency; and
-
normal administrative practice (NAP) which allows for the destruction of records where the records are duplicated, unimportant or for short-term use only.
