Performance and review
We are committed to ongoing evaluation and review of ASIC’s performance.
We use qualitative and quantitative measures, detailed in our annually-updated Corporate Plan, and report on these in the performance statement which forms part of our Annual Report.
We annually assess our performance against the Australian Government’s Regulator Performance Framework, which sets six key performance indicators to measure the extent to which regulators minimise the regulatory burden in the course of their activities.
Our Service Charter sets performance targets for our services to businesses and individuals, including the time we take to answer enquiries, complete registrations and licence applications, and respond to complaints. We report our performance against each of these targets annually.
And we support and assist external reviews of our capabilities and performance, including the periodic capability reviews of financial regulators, implemented in response to the Financial System Inquiry in 2014.
